'Macaroon' Painting and Sculpture

I had the privilege to complete a double commission of a Toy Aussie named Macaroon. A painting as well as a sculpture, so much fun! I tried a new approach to a pet sculpture this time around by painting it from a single-color base. I think this is my new way of doing sculptures - I adore the results!
I've included the reference pictures sent by Macaroon's owner.

Finished painted sculpture! I almost don't want to give it up!

Big Projects 2015!

Since the last book cover design (see last blog post), I have done many small sketches and small projects. Tune back in for this years' Christmas card design, more book cover designs, and more from my new excursion of portrait work! Until then, enjoy the past three big projects I've done.

First ever window painting job. B's Coffee in Fort Collins.

Portrait class at college is really stretching me!  Here's my first ever finished portrait.
One of my best friends in pastels.

Second book cover design for Denae Christine's Royal Deception Trilogy.
This is on it's way to be finalized and the finished product will be up soon with links!

New Beginnings

This drawing has a lot of meaning to it.
It was done as a gift for a friend and an art class assignment.
(Sorry, the picture is a little crooked.)

Sunflower 1

I'm not very happy with how this one turned out but my mother insists that I don't paint over it and that she be allowed to keep it. So, check back soon for a picture of Sunflower 2.

For others

Here's some pictures of a few finished drawings I've done on request of my fellow classmates. A squirrel caricature, a seagull of peace, and a thirsty camel for a t-shirt design.

Switchbacks

This one was inspired by my classmates and our recent five day backpacking trip in the Tetons. Those switchbacks were killer!
Once again, this is a sketch from my sketchbook done in pen.
