Latest Portrait

Here's the latest portrait! My dearest friend, Lexy. She's so gorgeous, this was a really fun one to do! Here's the finished product (I'll replace with a better photo soon) followed by some step-by-steps for those of you that were curious. I was trying out a new technique with colored pencil and turpenoid.
Here's the finished product (better photo coming soon)

This is the beginning where I get to make it look like a comic book

The beginnings

Now to add some more skin tone, the hair, and the bubbles

Starting out on the hair

The hair is done section by section with lots of layering of the colored pencils and turpenoid

Almost done with the hair!

Adding fly-aways and depth to the hair

Now to add the bubbles! (Top/first image is the finished product.)

Now that this semester is over, I have time to be updating my site here.
Here are some pictures from when I learned to draw people.
Shhh! Don't let the word get out! I may be able to draw people now but it's not my favorite.

New Beginnings

This drawing has a lot of meaning to it.
It was done as a gift for a friend and an art class assignment.
(Sorry, the picture is a little crooked.)

Menacing?

My first attempt at a truly menacing beast that actually almost worked. This is a picture I plan on doing again in the future and simply put it on a black background to make it much cooler.

Curiosity

This was done for a friend of mine who loves dragons. I need to work on scales. I'd like to work on colored backgrounds as well. Black backgrounds would be really cool to master.

Playtime

This picture was done for a friend at college who is very indecisive and had no idea what her favorite animal is so I drew all of them for her. :)

For others

Here's some pictures of a few finished drawings I've done on request of my fellow classmates. A squirrel caricature, a seagull of peace, and a thirsty camel for a t-shirt design.

Swamp Monster

I really like that this guy is different from the majority of creatures I do. I need to break out of my box more often.
