Drawing Challenge

I've taken on a 30 Day Drawing Challenge to keep myself sketching over the summer since I'm still in school.
I pieced together drawing prompts from various drawing challenges on Pinterest. I'm not necessarily doing it every day but it is keeping me drawing more often than not.
Day 3's prompt was to "Draw a Monster Performing a Mundane Task".
A friend of mine suggested video editing as the mundane task and here you have it:
(I'm quite happy with this one!)

College Project

Oh college. All consuming it is! However, I have not forgotten about my art! In fact, I am taking an art class in order to keep on doing art and keep my sanity. This post is to show off a project that is in progress. It is a self portrait. It will include all of my iconic, favorite doodles from 2009-present! It was fun to go back in my sketchbooks and collect them all. I'm posting some of my absolute favorites here to share with you. =)
Stay tuned for more book cover designs for Denae Christine as well! Book 2 is out on Amazon already!

Menacing?

My first attempt at a truly menacing beast that actually almost worked. This is a picture I plan on doing again in the future and simply put it on a black background to make it much cooler.

Curiosity

This was done for a friend of mine who loves dragons. I need to work on scales. I'd like to work on colored backgrounds as well. Black backgrounds would be really cool to master.

Happy doodle

Trying out a more "snake-y" appearance. Just a fun little doodle that turned out well.

Swamp Monster

I really like that this guy is different from the majority of creatures I do. I need to break out of my box more often.

Amphibious tag

This guy originally started out as an attempt at Leviathan but he wasn't impressive enough, nor did he look vicious enough. Instead it turned into a cute amphibious game of tag between the fish and this docile creature - who knows if it ends with this crocodile-like guy enjoying some seafood.

Escapee

Done in pen. This was a exercise to achieve motion in a sketch instead of the usual sitting position. I love this character and hopefully we will see him around in the future.

Sketches

While I'm away here at college I'd still like to be posting from time to time. I apologize for the picture quality but it's the best I can do with what I have. All of these pictures will also be out of my sketchbook (unless otherwise stated) so sometimes pictures from the other side of the page will be visible.

The Dragon

This guy isn't quite finished yet, he still needs his plastic wings installed.
Keep checking back to see new creations added in all the tabs!

First Post!

Here's my first blog post to get this thing started!

This is a sketch I did last month to test my patience level with details.
Done in pen.
